So you’re ready to climb? Awesome, you’ll get the ‘hang’ of it in no time and we’ll help you get you started. To climb safely and confidently it’s important to be familiar with climbing rules and etiquette of our climbing gym. First up, save yourself time by completing the online waiver form so that when you come in we can have you climbing walls as soon as possible. Then you can watch the safety videos below and read through the FAQ so that way we’re all on the same page. Safety and respect are the name of the game and ensure that everyone is having fun.

We welcome families, kids, amateur enthusiasts, and hard core climbing addicts – we have something for you all. And when you need a rest you can relax on the landscaped lawn by the river – bring a picnic or chill out and sit and socialise between climbs.

Do I need to book?2023-01-30T09:16:26+11:00

Bookings are required for:
– specific classes
– lead belaying or lead climbing certification
– general climbing with groups of 10 or more

Bookings are not required for general climbing in groups of less than 10.

If you are climbing with a group of 10 or more please contact us in advance

What do I need to bring?2023-01-30T09:17:02+11:00

Wear comfortable , flexible clothes – any kind of gym or active wear is ideal. We have climbing shoes, harnesses and chalk bags available for hire so if it’s your first time, don’t worry we’ve got you covered. See prices below.

If you have your own climbing gear then of course you’re welcome to bring that. If you intend to lead climb you are expected to bring your own rope/belay device, etc.

Which kind of chalk can I use?2023-01-30T09:17:27+11:00

Liquid chalk and chalk balls can be used at Climbing Jungle. Loose chalk is not permitted.

Do I need to wear a mask?2023-01-30T09:17:34+11:00

Masks are not required at this time.

While we recognise that some climbing gyms encourage you to bring your pooch along, we are a child friendly facility with a children’s playground area that caters to toddlers. For this reason, we have a strict ‘no dogs’ policy.

Are there any age limits?2023-01-30T09:17:46+11:00

– you need to be 18 years or over to sign the waiver. If you’re under 18 years of age, you need a parent or guardian to sign the waiver.
– kids aged 5 and over can climb in the general climbing area with adult supervision
– kids under 5 can climb in the dedicated kids climbing area upstairs (opening soon)
– all children aged 12 and under must be under the direct supervision of an adult
– youths age 13 to 16 must be accompanied by an adult
climbers must be a minimum of
– 5 years of age for auto belay and top rope climbing
– 12 years of age for lead climbing
belayers must be a minimum of
– 12 years of age for top rope belaying
– 16 years of age for lead belaying

weight restrictions are:
– 15kg minimum for auto belay
– 120kg maximum for auto belay
– maximum 20kg difference with between climber and belayer for lead climbing

No! We have climbs for all levels of strength and fitness. Our staff are a friendly bunch so if you have any questions or would like some tips to get you started, just ask!

The Laws of the Jungle

We pride ourselves in being an all inclusive super friendly gym that encourages good times and positive vibes. Under no circumstance will bullying, harassment, or discrimination of any kind be tolerated. And we ask you to follow a few rules and some standard climbing etiquette to ensure an enjoyable and safe climbing environment for everyone.

  • absolutely no running on the climbing mats

  • all children aged 12 and under must be under the direct supervision of an adult
  • youths age 13 to 16 must be accompanied by an adult

  • climbers must be a minimum of
    – 5 years of age for auto belay and top rope climbing
    – 12 years of age for lead climbing
  • belayers must be a minimum of
    – 12 years of age for top rope belaying
    – 16 years of age for lead belaying

  • weight restrictions are:
    – 15kg minimum for auto belay
    – 120kg maximum for auto belay
    – maximum 20kg difference with between climber and belayer for lead climbing

  • climbing shoes must be worn at all times whilst on the wall

  • only chalk balls and liquid chalk can be used within the gym and chalk balls must always remain within the chalk bag
  • please refrain from eating on the climbing mats
  • please remove climbing shoes when moving outside onto the grass or beach area

Lost Property

All Items discovered at the end of each day will be placed into our lost property tub for future collection. Any items that are not claimed within 3 months will be donated to charity.
